Water

Startling fact! Our bodies are made of 50-75% water and by living we dehydrate. Most mature adults lose 2.5 to 3 litres of water every day, and water loss may increase during hot weather and prolonged exercise.  Since the body can’t store water, we need fluids every day to makeup for the losses. Water loss needs to be replaced. Most foods contain water and the body can get about 20% of its water requirements from solid food. Those who know, claim we should drink about 2 litres a day if you’re a woman and 3 litres for men, depending on our weight, which is such a lot to ingest.

How to drink that amount? Well, it takes a bit of a regular plan. This is mine. Out of bed, first thing, I drink two glasses of water with a squeeze of lemon juice, which restores the body’s PH level and to assist the liver’s detox process, a teaspoon of chlorophyll to eliminate toxins and to purify the blood and alkalise, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to lower cholesterol and maintain healthy blood sugar levels. After a shower, I sip two large glasses of one of my favourite smoothies: green smoothie, acai smoothie or some other fruit smoothie. I take a large flask of water infused with lemon to work to sip throughout the day. Home again, a while before dinner, I drink another two glasses of water. While relaxing before bedtime, I always drink a glass of water just before I go to bed. Achieved, without too much effort. Can be done, just takes a plan.
